Introducing the StreamShark OBS Plugin: Control Your Live Events Without Leaving OBS
We’re excited to announce the StreamShark OBS Plugin, a native dock panel that puts control of your live events directly inside OBS Studio.
Until now, managing a StreamShark live event meant switching between OBS and the StreamShark dashboard. The new plugin reduces that context-switching, giving producers key event controls in a single workspace.
Account and event management
Switch between StreamShark accounts and select your live event directly from the dock. The plugin automatically configures the correct streaming protocol (RTMP or SRT) based on your event type, so there’s no need to copy stream keys or manually adjust OBS output settings.
Dual-stream broadcast controls
Start and stop your primary and backup streams independently, with real-time bitrate monitoring for both. OBS doesn’t natively support sending redundant streams to separate ingest endpoints, so achieving this previously required running two instances of OBS. The plugin handles it in one, letting you see at a glance whether both streams are healthy before and during your broadcast.
Event phase switcher
Move between Pre, Main, and Post phases with a single click. This controls what your viewers see at each stage of the event, all without leaving OBS.
Live CTAs
Select and activate calls-to-action on your player in real time. Prompt viewers to sign up, visit a link, or take action at exactly the right moment in your broadcast.
Live polling
Trigger audience polls at key moments during your broadcast. Pick from your pre-configured questions, activate them with one click, and gather viewer responses without switching out of OBS.
Why it matters
For solo operators and production teams alike, fewer windows means fewer mistakes. The plugin brings StreamShark’s event orchestration tools into the environment where producers are already focused: their streaming software. And by adding native redundant streaming support to OBS, it closes one of the biggest gaps for anyone running mission-critical broadcasts.
