Shark AI: Scribe writes the captions, chapters and metadata for every video in your library
Run Scribe on a video and it comes back with time-coded captions, translations in the languages you choose, chapter markers at the topic shifts, and a title, description and tags. Every word that was said then becomes searchable, in the admin portal and on your channels.

How Shark AI: Scribe works on StreamShark
Shark AI: Scribe is the AI metadata engine built into StreamShark's video on demand platform. It transcribes a video into time-coded captions, then works from that transcript to write translated captions, chapter markers, a title, a description and tags. It runs on one video at a time, on a new upload, a recording in your library or the archive of a live stream.
Chapters, titles, descriptions and tags, written from the transcript
Scribe reads the video's transcript and writes the title, description, chapters and tags, ready for you to review.
Chapter markers at topic shifts
Scribe places a chapter marker wherever the subject changes, with a short label for each, so viewers of a town hall or training session click straight to the part they came for.Titles and descriptions that say what was said
The title and description are written from the transcript, so they name the actual topics and numbers that came up.Tags your library search can use
Scribe pulls recurring terms, product names and themes out of the transcript and saves them as tags, so your library sorts, filters and searches by what is in each video.Book a demo and we'll show you Scribe writing captions, chapters and metadata for a recording.
Book a DemoCaptions and translations for every video, edited in place
Scribe generates time-coded captions in VTT format for each video and can translate them into the languages you choose from 30+. Both are stored with the video and offered in the player.
Time-coded captions for every video
Scribe transcribes the audio into time-coded captions in VTT format and attaches them to the video, where viewers switch them on in the player. Captioned recordings are a step toward accessibility standards such as WCAG.Translated captions in the languages you choose
Choose the languages your audience needs from 30+ and Scribe translates the captions into each one, offered in the player next to the original.Edit a line without leaving the platform
Click into any caption or translation, make the change and save. There is no exporting a VTT file, editing it elsewhere and uploading it again.Search your library by what was said, and land on the moment
Every caption Scribe writes is indexed. Type a phrase and Scribe lists every video in which it was spoken, with the timestamp, and a click opens the video at that moment.
A searchable knowledge base
With every caption indexed, your video library becomes something your organization can look things up in. What the CEO said about pricing is a search away.Jump to the exact moment
Each result carries the timestamp of the moment the phrase was spoken, and the video opens right there instead of at the start.Search for your viewers too
The same search works on your channels and viewer home page, not only in the admin portal, so viewers can use it too.Finds what the title never mentioned
A recording called "March update" still turns up in a search for "pricing" if pricing came up on the day, because search reads the captions as well as the title and description.See Shark AI: Scribe at work on a real recording

Shark AI: Scribe questions we get asked
Scribe transcribes the video into time-coded captions in VTT format, then uses that transcript to produce translated captions in the languages you choose, chapter markers at each shift in topic, a descriptive title, a summary description and a set of tags. Everything is saved on the video itself in StreamShark, ready to review and publish.
Yes. Scribe runs when you choose to run it, one video at a time, on a new upload, on any recording already in your video on demand library or on the archive of a live stream. An older town hall, training session or event recording gets the same captions, chapters and metadata as a new upload, without anyone editing them by hand.
Yes. Every title, description, chapter, tag and caption line can be edited inside StreamShark. Click into a caption, correct a misheard name or reword a translated phrase, and save. There is no exporting a VTT file, editing it in another tool and uploading it again.
Scribe translates captions into the languages you choose from 30+, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and Hindi. The translated captions are stored with the video and appear as caption options in the player, the same way the original language does.
Every caption Scribe writes is indexed. Type a word or phrase into the search bar and Scribe lists every video in which it was spoken, with the timestamp. Clicking a result opens the video at that moment. Search is available in the admin portal and on your channels and viewer home page, so your team and your viewers both use it.
No. Scribe works on recorded video after it is in your library, and its results stay on the file. Live captions, translations and voice dubbing run on a live stream as the presenter speaks. The two use the same translation languages, so a live event captioned on the day and its recording processed by Scribe end up in the same languages.
