On Enterprise plans, dedicated ingests can be provisioned wherever you require. Talk to us about your locations
Why edge location matters for live and on-demand video
A viewer in London shouldn't be pulling a live town hall from a server in Virginia, and the same goes for the recording they watch the next day. The further video has to travel, the longer it takes to start and the more often it stops to buffer, so StreamShark serves each viewer from an edge server near them.
Those edges come from StreamShark's patented Multi-CDN, which combines multiple CDN providers into a single delivery layer. The locations above are that combined footprint, so coverage doesn't depend on any one vendor's network. For offices where hundreds of viewers share one internet connection, peer-to-peer live streaming is available as an add-on and cuts bandwidth by up to 90 percent.
You can compare plans on the pricing page. The Enterprise plan adds dedicated ingests, provisioned wherever you require them.

Network coverage questions we get asked
StreamShark has 118 edge locations in more than 50 countries, across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia and New Zealand. Live streams and on-demand video are both delivered from them, and the full list, by region and country, is on this page.
An ingest is where your encoder sends a live stream into StreamShark. An edge is where viewers pull video from, live or on demand. A live stream comes in through an ingest and reaches viewers through the edge servers closest to each of them, and on-demand videos are served from the same edges.
