Immersive video streaming, from 360° live to 8K spatial
One platform for video that surrounds the viewer. Stream 180° and 360° video live in up to 4K, turn side-by-side 3D and VR180 masters into native spatial video for Apple Vision Pro and Android XR at up to 8K, and schedule it to play out as a live event.

How immersive video works on StreamShark, from 360 live streaming to spatial
Immersive video is any video the viewer sits inside rather than looks at, and it comes in a few shapes. A 360° video records every direction at once, so the viewer chooses where to look by dragging the picture, moving their phone or turning their head in a headset. A 180° video covers the half in front of the camera at twice the pixel density. Spatial video goes a step further and carries a separate view for each eye, which is what gives it depth, and VR180 combines that stereo pair with a 180° field of view.
For spatial video, the StreamShark Spatial and Immersive Video Pipeline converts existing side-by-side 3D and VR180 content into MV-HEVC, the format Apple Vision Pro and Android XR play natively, at up to 8K with full per-eye resolution and bitrate savings of around 27 percent. It scores each eye with VMAF, generates adaptive bitrate streams for both platforms with a 2D fallback, and passes Dolby Atmos through untouched. The pipeline won NAB Show Product of the Year 2026 and a Best of Show award. Pair it with VOD2Live and the 6K or 8K output plays out as a scheduled live event.
180° and 360° live streaming, monoscopic or stereoscopic
The classic immersive formats. A 360° stream records every direction and a 180° stream the half in front of the camera at twice the pixel density, and the StreamShark player plays both live or on demand at up to 4K and 60 frames per second.
Spatial video for Apple Vision Pro and Android XR
Side-by-side 3D and VR180 masters, from feature films to last night's concert, pack both eyes into one frame and halve the resolution each eye gets. The StreamShark Spatial and Immersive Video Pipeline re-encodes them into MV-HEVC with a discrete view per eye at full resolution, up to 8K, saving around 27 percent in bitrate over encoding each eye separately. One transcode produces adaptive bitrate streams for Apple Vision Pro and Android XR, and Dolby Atmos or Dolby Digital audio passes through without re-encoding.
Native on the headset, with a fallback for every other screen
Spatial and immersive output is built for the headset. Apple Vision Pro and Android XR devices play the pipeline's MV-HEVC streams natively, with full resolution to each eye and the depth the format was shot with. The same stream carries a standard 2D HEVC base layer, so a laptop or a phone gets a flat picture from the same source.
Each eye scored with VMAF before release
Compression artifacts that go unnoticed on a laptop can cause real discomfort in a headset when they differ between the eyes. The pipeline runs a VMAF perceptual quality score on each view during the transcode and flags asymmetric blocking or detail loss before an asset is published, so an 8K spatial library can be checked without anyone watching it frame by frame.
Schedule 8K immersive video as a live event with VOD2Live
Immersive content rarely needs a live camera. Upload the pipeline's 6K or 8K output, build a schedule in VOD2Live and it plays out as a live event at the time you set, repeated for each region or virtual venue, with the live player experience for the audience and no encoder on the day.

Immersive video questions we get asked
360 live streaming broadcasts video captured in every direction at once, so viewers choose where to look by dragging the picture, moving their phone or turning their head in a VR headset. StreamShark plays 360° and 180° live streams in a browser at up to 4K, in monoscopic or stereoscopic formats.
No. 180° and 360° streams play in the StreamShark player in Chrome, Firefox and Edge on desktop and in Chrome on Android, with click-and-drag or gyroscope panning. Spatial and immersive video is made for headsets and plays natively on Apple Vision Pro and Android XR, with a 2D fallback for every other device.
Apple Vision Pro and Android XR devices play the pipeline's MV-HEVC spatial and immersive video natively. Every other device receives the 2D fallback layer from the same stream, so one asset serves the headset and the laptop.
Spatial video is stereoscopic video with a separate view for each eye, which gives it depth. MV-HEVC, multi-view HEVC, is the codec Apple visionOS and Google's Android XR use for it. It stores each eye as its own view layer and reuses the data the two share, so StreamShark's pipeline keeps full per-eye resolution at up to 8K while saving around 27 percent in bitrate.
Yes. The StreamShark Spatial and Immersive Video Pipeline ingests side-by-side 3D and VR180 masters, from film archives to recent captures, and outputs MV-HEVC spatial or immersive video for Apple Vision Pro and Android XR, with per-view VMAF quality scoring and Dolby Atmos pass-through.
Yes, through VOD2Live. The pipeline's 6K or 8K output is scheduled as a live event and plays out at the set time, repeated for each region or venue, without a live camera or encoder. Live 360° streams from a camera run at up to 4K.
Live streaming above 1080p, including 4K 360° streams, requires an Enterprise plan. The 360° player itself is available on every plan at up to 1080p. Contact sales about the Spatial and Immersive Video Pipeline.
