Peer to Peer Live Streaming
Reduce the external bandwidth requirements for your organization.
Peer to Peer Features
Reduce External Bandwidth Requirements
A key challenge encountered by enterprise companies is the external bandwidth requirements for high quality live streams. When many employees are viewing a stream simultaneously, it generates a huge strain on the internet connection.
When peer to peer streaming is enabled, the viewer’s device acts as a video distribution node. The benefit of this is that it reduces the external bandwidth requirements on local networks, as any video data already downloaded is shared locally between viewers on an internal network.
Reduce Data Transfer Bills
When peer to peer streaming is enabled, we see reductions in data transfer bills of up to 80-90%. This is achieved by viewers fetching content from other users on the local network who have already downloaded the content.
For example if there are 10 viewers on a local network, the first viewer of the live stream will download the content, and then act as a distribution node to the other 9 viewers. This in effect reduces the amount of data downloaded by 90%, as only a single viewer needs to download the live stream video.
In-depth Metrics & Reports on Quality of Experience
With our quality of experience reports, you no longer need to rely on the end user reporting whether a stream had issues or not.
Our reports show information at an incredibly granular level. You can see the quality of viewing experience for each individual user.
